Friday, love you so much...

No, Friday is not a girl's name lol! It's just that, everything is so magical on that day, it's like things fall into place as they planned to. I love my siblings for that =D. Let's see...

Yes, in the afternoon, my brother and his girlfriend checked in to Empire Hotel at about 3pm. I was excited because I finally get to swim there for the first time! (The last time I went there, it was X.x. I couldn't swim at that time.) So we just basically swam swam swam for a few hours la. But before that, we took really weird and funny pictures in their suite. It was hilarious man. But I don't like the delaying until 4 la. But it's okay la, it was fun.

Then we finally get to swim. Hey, it's really a shame that we can't play at the kiddie slide there. You know that slide for "kids" in Empire. The one that's kind of big. Unfortunately, the royalties were there, and that place is closed down for "private function" = ( . So never mind la, we just swam at the artificial beach and the main pool. Mostly we waded around and swam a bit.

My mom actually wanted us home for dinner but luckily, she said that she and my dad are going out dinner, so she told us to eat outside. I was ecstatic beyond words. We wanted to swim at the indoor pool and play bowling, but then it's already kind of late in the evening. So we ate at the Pantai after showering and drying ourselves off. The food there is EXCELLENT, but too bad I can't eat much. Hahaha, I was groaning and moaning because I can't finish my food! While we were eating, we were given a private performance by a guitarist and a...shaker? =S Both can sing la. So they sang us an oldies song. They sang beautifully, partly because I grew up hearing these oldies songs haha! So I know the tune and stuffs. ^^ I don't know the title of the song though.

After that, we wanted to go bowling, but then the sports centre was closed for the night. So we decided to watch Scary Movie 4 at the Empire Cinema which was showed at 10.40 p.m. You know what?

When we went in, WE WERE THE ONLY ONES WATCHING =O. Throughout the whole show again! We were the only ones in the cinema! So sad, but so cool man. I mean, we can do anything we want, we can laugh out loud, scream out loud without giving a care to the world. Hahaha... So cool, it's like, they reserve specially for us (more like it's late in the night and people rather sleep than watch a movie =X).

Scary Movie 4 is a nice movie. According to my elder brother and his girlfriend, the movie actually showed different scenes from different movies, but they twisted everything in a funny way and combine together into one movie. Hahaha, at first I didn't want to go but luckily it didn't belong to the horror genre. There's a bit la, but not enough to give you nightmares. Below lists the scene of movies that they used:

And others I can't remember...

Overall, it's a very funny movie la. But it's sort of dirty and sick! =O And, I don't know, it's kind of pointless; the moral of the story wasn't strong enough. Typical of comedies la. If you like to get a good laugh, then watch this. It would be funnier if you watched all of the movies listed above.

And that's why I loved last Friday. I had a great time with my siblings. Thank you, thank you! ^^

K.K. Trip

Man, I really have lots of blogging to do. But I'm happy that the last week of my holidays was simply wonderful and enjoyable, it's like a dream come true XP. Okay, first things first, I have got to blog about the K.K. trip we councillors made. Erm ... I just copy and paste from the report that I typed out already for Mable, so here it is la, the "abridged version". Lol!

On the 19th of June 2006, the Student Council and some Form 5 students together with Miss Jane and Cikgu Chong assembled outside the school on a crisp and cool Monday morning. We departed from St. Andrew’s School by an air-conditioned and spacious bus at about 7 a.m. After making several pit stops on the way, we arrived at Kota Kinabalu at around 4 p.m. Our proposed stay was supposed to be at the hostel at Likas Sports Complex, but unfortunately, due to some inconveniences we have to bear, we changed our place of stay to Capital Hotel in Kota Kinabalu.

The next morning (20th June 2006) the students were brought around Kota Kinabalu and visited some places of interest. We also want to extend our thanks to some of the Institut Sinaran’s former councillors and Mr. Tan who acted as our guides during the trip. Our first stop was at Sutera Harbour Hotel, a five-star hotel in Kota Kinabalu. We were brought around to enjoy its grandeur and beauty as well as its sceneries. After that, we then went to Yayasan, Sabah, which is a tall building that has rotating floors on each level and houses a rotating restaurant near the top floor as well. We stayed for a short while and took a few pictures instead.

Later, we made a visit to the University Malaysia Sabah (UMS). We first visited its Marine Research Centre where a guide gave us a tour showing us creatures that dwell inside the sea. It gave us an awareness of the fauna and flora that are surviving under the sea. After that, we were privileged enough to be given a tour around the campus of the university and even visited its museum as well.

In the afternoon, we made an educational visit to Institut Sinaran, a school that facilitates primary, secondary and sixth form students. We were given a welcome lunch as a welcoming gesture from Institut Sinaran. During the lunch, several of their councillors mingled with us and everyone had a good time getting to know each other. We then witnessed presentations from both schools.

During the presentation made by Institut Sinaran, our student councillors were made aware of their student council’s operation. Their system is a lot different from our Student Council. We took note of the differences and hopefully, we may be able to implement some of their ideas into our own Student Council where appropriate. Immediately after the presentations, students and teachers from Institut Sinaran and St. Andrew’s School celebrated Ebbie’s birthday, one of our fellow councillor. Councillors from Institut Sinaran then organised some games for everyone to enjoy and have fun and in the meantime, helping to foster relationships between the two schools. It was certainly enjoyable and everybody had fun.

During the third day of our trip (21st June 2006), we visited a national park somewhere near Mt. Kinabalu. We sight-saw for a while before heading back to the capital of Sabah and there we spent the rest of the afternoon doing whatever we fancied.

We ended our last day of our trip by visiting Pulau Manukan. There, councillors, teachers and students did whatever they wanted. Some waded in the sea water, some played football, some just lazed around, some hiked and some even jet skied. Overall, everyone had a lot of fun. After spending a good few hours on the island, we went back to the hotel and prepared ourselves before heading back to Brunei. We finally arrived at St. Andrew’s safely at around 7 p.m. and everyone headed back home, tired and exhausted but happy that they are able to enjoy themselves on a very interesting educational trip to Kota Kinabalu.

Add-ons made by me =D :
Ummm...that's all?! I think about it and repost again later if I can remember what else happen. Hahaha...

Funny things

As everyone knows, today is Father's Day. Yes, another shoutout to the dads and dads-to-be wishing you all happy father's day, especially my dad =). Okay, anyway, today I went out lunch with my family, except my elder brother who went to Miri to party around, I think -.-". But he's coming back later anyway.

It's a very normal day actually, but it turned out pretty differently when my dad saw a shirt he brought for me in Greece and asked me to wear it out. At first, I was hesistant because the Parthenon iron on picture in orange background doesn't look really great in that black shirt. But I suddenly remembered today is Father's Day, so I wore it for the sake of my dad. Hahaha =P.

When we were about to go out, I saw my little brother, wearing a white shirt WITH THE PARTHENON IRON ON TOO! I was like, omg, this isn't happening, tell me this is all a dream. But it isn't. I quickly told my brother to change, but he doesn't want to. I wanted to change, but I don't want to upset my dad. So in the end...

We both wear the Parthenon t-shirt!!!

Damn! That was really embarrassing you know, going around Jaya to the food court wearing the nearly similar 2 t-shirts. It's like...WE'RE TWINS!!! OMGGG! And the worse thing is, my brother wanted to embarrass both of us by walking together?!

Ugh, I don't want to describe in detail...

But it's kind of funny and cool as well. Hahaha, the ironies. I remember that when we were younger, we usually wear similar shirts to go out kai kai. Wah liewww... I don't think I want to relieve the same experience again...ever... Lucky my elder brother isn't around, otherwise he too will ridicule me =P.

Got to go swimming class now (tiring!), so I catch you guys later~

No title

Previous post deleted. I myself also do not understand what I was rambling about =S. Anyway, my life during the holidays now can be described in just 2 words: Sims 2! Yes, my whole life has been revolving around Sims 2 ever since the beginning of holidays (and some aforementioned problems too). Hoping that maybe after the holidays, I will get sick of Sims 2 and can concentrate better in my schoolwork.

Like that would happen.

Eventually, the cycle of procrastination repeats itself again, threatening to destroy my life as the tests draws nearer. Lol, it always happens and has been happening since ... since when again???

Sorry if this post is rather short, it's more like telling people that I'm still alive and this blog is still active. And thanks guys, I'm okay now. I think I made things go really REALLY out of perspective. Never mind. I'm glad that things are slowly returning back to normal.

Sort of...hehe... *gives a goofy grin*

Greatest Lessons of Life

Thanks to Luisa Jie Jie for this splendid Fwd: mail. Keep on sending me yea ;).

EACH PERSON WHO ENTERS OUR LIFE
HAS A UNIQUE LESSON TO TEACH US.

And it is only through these lessons that we learn about life, people, relationships and God.

WHEN SOMEONE LIES TO YOU
,
it teaches you that things are not always as they seem.

The truth is often far beneath the surface.

Look beneath the masks that people wear if you want to know their heart. And remove your own masks to let people know yours.

WHEN SOMEONE STEALS FROM YOU
,

it teaches you that nothing is forever.

Always appreciate what you have,

for you never know when you might lose it.

And never, ever take your friends and family for granted because today is the only guarantee you have.

WHEN SOMEONE INFLICTS AN INJURY UPON YOU
,
it teaches you that the human state is a fragile one.

Protect and take care of your body as best you can,

it's the only thing you are sure to have forever.

WHEN SOMEONE MOCKS YOU,

it teaches you that no two people are alike.

When you encounter people who are different from you,

don't judge them by how they look or act;

instead base your opinion on the contents of their heart.

WHEN SOMEONE BREAKS YOUR HEART,

it teaches you that loving someone does not always mean

that person will love you back.

But don't turn your back on love

because when you find the right person,

the joy that one person brings will make up

for all the past hurts put together. A hundredfold!

WHEN SOMEONE HOLDS A GRUDGE AGAINST YOU
,
it teaches you that everyone makes mistakes.

When you are wronged, the most virtuous thing you can do

is forgive the offender without pretense.

Forgiving those who have hurt us is the most difficult

and courageous thing Man can do.

WHEN A LOVED ONE IS UNFAITHFUL TO YOU
,
it teaches you that resisting temptation is Man's greatest challenge. Be vigilant in your existance against all temptation. By doing so you will be rewarded with an enduring sense of satisfaction far greater than the temporary pleasure by which you were tempted.

WHEN SOMEONE CHEATS ON YOU,

it teaches you that greed is the root of all evil.

Aspire to make your dreams come true,

no matter how lofty they may be.

Do not feel guilty about your success,
but never let an
obsession with achieving your goals lead you to engage
in malevolent activities.
WHEN SOMEONE RIDICULES YOU,

it teaches you that nobody is perfect.

Accept people for their merits and be tolerant of their flaws. Do not ever reject someone for imperfections over which they have no control.

God replied that Man's capacity to love is the greatest gift he has. At the root of all kindness is love, and
EACH ACT OF LOVE ALSO TEACHES US A LESSON.

WHEN SOMEONE LOVES US,

it teaches us that love, kindness, charity, honesty, humility, forgiveness and acceptance can counteract all the evil in the world. For every good deed, there is one less evil deed. Man alone has the power to control the balance between good and evil, but because the lessons of love are not taught often enough, the power is too often abused.

When you enter someone's life,

whether by plan, chance or coincidence,

CONSIDER WHAT YOUR LESSON WILL BE.

Will you teach love or a harsh lesson of reality?

When you die will your life have resulted in more loving or hurting? More comfort or pain? More joy or sadness?

Each one of us has power over the balance of love in the world. Use it wisely. Don't miss an opportunity to nudge the world's scale in the right direction.

Umm hmm

Yea, sorry guys, I have been so engrossed into my Sims 2 game I actually couldn't find the time to blog. That game is fun man, especially since I got hold of the Open for Business expansion pack. Wow, so cool man, my Sims can actually run a business (D-u-h! Obviously, like the title of the game says). They had set up shops both at home and at community lots, but so far, they only managed to lose a lot of money, or earn insignificant sums of profit. Yea, it's that bad. Aiya, still a n00b la, hopefully their business will skyrocket ^.^

Let's start from Saturday. Hmm, let's see. Oh yes, we have a very very long assembly. It lasted 2 periods =O. One of the longest until everyone has to sit down. Prizes were given out, and I don't know how, I was somehow dragged to the stage and give away prizes (actually just carry the tray nia). My legs were so sore from carrying my own body weight for that long. And after assembly, I lack the energy to study in class. It was so long, so boring, so tiring, so UGHH.

During English period, everyone had to check their marks and calculate their aggregates and their averages. Mine was okay la. But it will be kind of terrible la it it is my GCE O' Level results. Thank goodness I was given extra credit for Physics for doing the corrections for Mid-Year Exam and First Assessment, I managed to somehow get a credit for Physics. Yay! (Though I don't really deserve it =P).

So there was this guy (I'm so tempted to brand him nasty names, but what the heck) who managed to beat me in Mid-Year Exams and he's like going "YES!" and gave an evil SMIRK of victory when I ermm... "shouted" my marks to Mrs. Shafee. And that's not all. He's like yippity yay-ing around for a while. And it's so annoying okay? You beat me? Oh, good loh. As if I care. (Okay, I do okay? You made me kind of furious with you.)

And this leads to another issue I want to raise. Kiasu-ism. What about it you say? Well, in schools, the top pupils usually have this kind of attitude which Singaporeans call it being "kiasu". Directly translated from Hokkien (I think), it means afraid to lose. I admit, I am kiasu even today, but I'm happy that I manage to not fret too much about my marks AND overreact. It was worse last time, to the point until even I got high marks, I will go cranky and berserk and do things that an ordinary student wouldn't. Just because I couldn't beat the Top 1. Looking back, I realised I was acting rather stupid, pointless and didn't help at all. Even worse, I looked like a jerk in front of my friends! They were like "You got so high already. What's there to be mad about?" and I, having a rather stubborn and ignorant nature, just continue grieving. It's really sad =(.

As I sit in class during the post-exam period, I can't help BUT notice a certain kiasu person (no offense, but I seriously feel that your efforts in trying to win back marks you do not deserve is simply futile) keeps coming to the front hoping to earn marks, even though he's already the highest. You know what? I am so tempted to go to the front and claim marks too but, nah, it's not worth the trouble and I do not want to ridicule myself in front of the whole class. And if you're trying to seed the kiasu quality back into me, I'm sorry, but I rather not be anymore. Because it's pointless.

Maybe that's the reason why I slackened off a lot. I lost the attitude of studying diligently. Always trying to burn the midnight oil. It's bad and I am trying to find back myself and quickly get into the track of studying not to beat people (although it will be nice change to be the top dog instead of second to best), but for the sake of my future. I need a secure life, and I want my future to be bright.

Okay, okay. Let me bring myself back down from fantasy into reality.

Let me gather my thoughts for a while...

Right. On Saturday, the last period was reserved for students to witness the Tug-of-War. One word, disappointed. It was just so boring. Whatever happened to the aggresiveness in that game? Everyone was like defensive and the words "Lock, lock!" is always heard. It's too long too. I don't know who won though. And it was rather short too. Sigh~ And so will this paragraph too.

Yesterday was Sports Day. IT WAS TIRING AND LONG AND IT WAS MAJORLY BORING X10. Ughhh. (Okay, this is quickly becoming a cliché). At first, we councillors have to march the march past. My march was horrible. My left arm kept moving with my left leg, when it's supposed to be the opposite. Man, that was so embarrassing. I think we looked rather inferior compared to the Police Cadets and Boys Bridage -.-". And we have to stand under the hot afternoon sun, and I forgot to mention that we have to wear blazers throughout the whole event! Like I was saying, after the march past, we together with the rest have to gather at the front of the field, sing the national anthem and listen to speeches. Oh man! At least the speeches were not too bad though. It was something about sports and success.

Okay, after that, us councillors go off doing their assigned duties. I was a prize steward, and I mostly have to guide the winners to the victory bench and ask them to wait there to collect their prizes. I sometimes assist in the prize giving. It was tiring la, have to run to and fro the tracks to guide the winners. Man, I wish I could win a sport medal. I really want one. I don't want to be just a nerd nia =S. LOL!!!

Towards the end of the event, there was a walkathon in which teachers have to take part. It was a funny sight! Man, some teachers can really walk man. Especially Mr. Bronie and Miss Agnes. Wah liew! My mouth was wide agape man when I saw them. Huff huff puff puff. =O And it was during the prize giving time when the prize stewards encountered a dilemma.

The 1st prize was missing!

Damn! We were all like so confused, so lost, so blur. Who could have taken the 1st prize unintentionally or intentionally we do not know. And everyone was like puzzled, confused and angry. It was so scary la. We never did find the prize. Somehow, one of the teachers had to sacrifice his/her 1st prize and it was given to...Miss Jane =S ?!?!

I can't really remember that well. It was all a blur to me. I was already so tired my sense of self has already shut down and gone to sleep. Later the councillors have to clean up the place. I feel like I turun pangkat already la LOL! And you know what? Most of them have like, already left -.-"". But whatever la, I just clean up anyway and balik kampung.

I didn't go to the dinner yesterday though. So utterly tired and lethargic. I don't really like to attend these social events. I always feel left out! I don't regret staying at home =). Dinner at home is much more delicious and always very homely =) Haha!

Most of today and last night was spent playing Sims 2 all the time. Hehe, I'm so happy with my Sims. Okay, okay, I know you guys had enough of hearing me blabbing about Sims 2 all the time, but it's a really cool game for me ^^. Haha... I do come online at times though, to check around people's blogs, tag and stuff. I missed a lot on their lives. Haha!

Alright. This is a pretty long post. I hope this keeps you satisfied. More coming your way soon! ^^
